We looked carefully at portraits of monarchs and saw many of them had sceptres, crowns and orbs in them. We changed photos of ourselves so that we looked like a King or Queen, using the royal colours of purple, red and gold.

We have nearly finished our topic in DT about healthy eating. We looked at healthy foods, practising chopping, slicing and grating. We dues scales to measure the ingredients and we all chose our own ingredients to add to the basic cereal bar recipe.

We have used our interest in The Great Fire of London (our writing topic) to create houses as an extra DT topic. The children loved researching and designing their own houses. We made our own street in London where the houses were tightly packed together and made of wood, straw and pitch (which was highly flammable!)

We were lucky enough to have one of our pupils tell us all about the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashana. She explained that it was ending today, Wednesday 24th September. We dipped apples in honey to wish and hope for a sweet new year. What a wonderful multi cultural experience for us all.

The children did an amazing job of creating posters at home to help them understand more about significant people in History. The children really enjoyed using their Oracy skills to explain about the person they researched. It made the topic become more relevant to them and give them ownership of their learning.
