Marshmallows & Reindeers

We started our day on -1 today.  It was very icy and cold.  The rain stayed away which was good.  Year 1 needed to practise their nativity play in the afternoon so we had the whole class  in the morning.  As it was so cold I decided to split the group into 2.  We did our crafty activity in our garden room and the other half of the class made a fire and roasted marshmallows.

We used wood cookies to make cute little decorations.  We used brown, red and black paint - plus our fingers to create little reindeer faces.  It was a lovely seasonal activity. I hope these little forest school souvenirs will make their way home to you!

I was especially impressed today with year 1s fire safety knowledge.  They were able to all tell me the safety rules around fire safety making.  They were also able to put what they knew into action which was excellent. Well done year 1!
