We all scream for ice cream!

To kick start our new topic 'At the Seaside' the children in the EYFS enjoyed an exciting new outdoor role-play activity - an ice cream parlour! We set up a shop front for them as well as the ice cream kitchen. The children used a mixture of different malleable materials including kinetic sand to role play making ice cream cones, sundaes and more! This was a wonderful opportunity to immerse the children in this fabulous new topic as well as encourage them to explore using new language, take turns and collaborate with their peers. In Topic later in the week we learnt about how ice cream is made and even shared our own experiences of visiting a seaside, lots of the children's stories included getting an ice cream!
