Who's been eating my porridge?!

This term in the EYFS our overarching topic is 'Stories and Rhymes', the children have learnt all about traditional tales and each week we have focussed on a different story. This week was the turn of Goldilocks and the Three Bears!

This afternoon we had an exciting Topic lesson, we pretended to be Goldilocks and got to taste 3 different bowls of porridge... one belonging to Daddy Bear, one belonging to Mummy Bear and of course one belonging to Baby Bear!

First up was Daddy Bear's porridge, the children decided it was 'disgusting', 'salty', 'sour' and 'yucky' - too much salt!

Next was Mummy's porridge, the children said this was 'too sweet' and 'not very nice' - too much syrup!

Finally the children got to try Baby Bear's porridge, this was the best by far with children saying it was 'just right', 'perfect', 'delicious' and 'yummy!' - not surprising with just a sprinkle of sugar.

The children thoroughly enjoyed this experience and it was a fantastic opportunity for us to develop our Oracy skills.
